Paloma
Faith is known for her smooth jazz vocals and eccentric dress sense,
but we doubt she ever thought that this mix would lead her peers to dub
the singer 'mentally ill'.
The
singer song-writer has revealed in a recent interview that sometimes
her "Therapeutic" style can be misconstrued as clinically insane. Still,
we suppose any news is good news? Paloma confesses,
"When
I'm going through difficult situations I've always dressed up to sort
of face them and go into battle...It gives me a confidence I don't have.
I think sometimes people have interpreted it properly and other times
they haven't but when people sort of think I'm mentally ill.... maybe
they don't have the courage to just run with a silly whim."
There's
no doubt that Paloma has sported some questionable outfits in the past,
but that's why we admire the individual singer and her style which can
be very Gaga-esque. Paloma promotes dressing however you feel is right
no matter what anyone says, she continued,
"They
like to brand me as crazy or whatever - they call me kooky! I'm quite
level-headed...You can't brand somebody as mad because they dress a
certain way. It actually warrants a conversation."
In
a previous interview Paloma had stated that she felt confident and
comfortable enough to express herself through her style, saying,
"I think what makes me different from the average Joe is that I feel free to be myself and expressmyself in the way that I want. If that makes you mad, we're living in a world of dire straits. If anything it makes you more sane."
