Katy Perry’s short lived romance with Florence + The Machine guitarist Rob Ackroyd may have cooled off but it seems like there’s one person who hoping for a reconciliation … Florence herself.
We chatted to the gorgeous singer at a swanky Camden art show last night and she was delighted to be back in the UK – and back on the booze - after behaving herself on tour in America and Australia.
Looking lovely in a vintage orange dress, she chatted about being loved up with her boyfriend of six months James Nesbitt.
But the flame haired songstress also spoke about her band member Rob’s recent romance with pop princess Katy.
The Teenage Dream singer was spotted smooching the handsome guitarist at Coachella Festival last month.
Drinking her first alcoholic drink in months – ginger whisky with a more than generous amount of Belvedere vodka - Florence admitted she understood why Katy had been attracted to her musician friend.
"I love Katy"
She said to heat: “[Rob’s] gorgeous, inside and out. I get it.“Katy is this ball of absolutely amazing energy, she’s so wonderful and fun. She’s very supportive of my music.
“I think that it’s brilliant having all these amazing female solo singers doing so well.
“It’s inspiring. I do love Gaga and Katy. They’re part of the family. I try to do my own thing, I’m very inspired by the 20s in my new video for Spectrum.
“I couldn’t believe what David LaChapelle had planned for me in the video. I was so overwhelmed on the first day of filming I burst into tears when I walked onto the set. ”
Asked about her American tour in the spring and performance at Coachella Festival, she said: “It was an absolutely amazing experience, there was so much love going on.
“I’ve literally just flown home. I have jet lag but I’m so happy to back and surrounded by my friends – these are the people who inspire me, creative people doing creative things. I love it."
The star wouldn’t be drawn into telling us whether either she or Rob would be meeting up with Katy Perry visits the UK later in the month to promote her new movie Part Of Me.
Florence was announcing the winner of a Hop Farm Music Festival's 'Create The Gate' competition at the Camden’s Cob Gallery. Artist Hayden Kays’ work is currently showing there.
